How to Keep Your Backyard Safe From Burglars Header Image

Even though it is essential to protect the inside of your home it is important to remember that the outside of your house is vulnerable to theft. Below are a few tips to make sure your backyard is as safe as it can be from theft.

Motions Sensitive Lights

A great way to protect the outside of your home is by installing motion-sensitive lights. If you don’t already have motion-sensitive lights they are very easy to install and use. The dark areas of your yard are vulnerable to burglars but with motion-sensitive lights, it makes it extremely difficult for burglars to approach your house unnoticed. In addition to placing these lights in the dark areas of your yard, it is also beneficial to put them near entrances of your home and yard. Remember to place them about 6-10 feet above the ground for maximum effectiveness.

Keeping your Outdoor Equipment Safe

Outdoor equipment is an easy target for burglars to it is important to properly store and secure your belongings. You may consider purchasing a shed that can lock and place it in an area that is less accessible to thieves. Any tools that are left out can be easily stolen so make sure to put them away at the end of the day. Another security measure is to lock down your patio furniture with a cable or a chain.

Strong Fences

A strong fence is key in protecting your outdoor belongings because it hides them from view and the fact that you have a fence can deter burglars from entering your yard. Also, make sure that if there are any gates on your fence you keep them locked while you are away from home or asleep.

These simple steps can go a long way in protecting your outdoor equipment and giving you more peace of mind. To read the original article please read this article Burglar Proofing Your Backyard.
